What is this project?
“You are going to have to learn to live with this” is a personal zine that is about my personal experience with nightmares. It features personal illustrations and recounts of nightmares I have had.
The book also discusses medications that help with nightmares and sleep, definitions, and how to get help if you are also struggling with nightmares.
Process
The process of creating “You are going to have to learn to live with this” required me to start writing down my dreams again since I hadn’t been journalling consistently. I had to go through an archive of my nightmares and select ones that were the most reasonable and could potentially be relatable to a wider audience. While doing research and discovery at the beginning of the project, finding a typeface that resembled handwriting was crucial to have it be more personal.
